Mighty Fine, out of Brooklyn, has been working on it’s sound since 2004 and is ready to debut its first full length album. Get Up To Get Down will be released on October 25th. Early production for the album began in late 2008. Everything was recorded on 12 track tape and each song played live to “keep the raw feeling of a Mighty Fine concert.”
The band is described as playing “sweaty rump shakin’ garage soul…the combination of a James Brown styled soul review and sweaty garage rock show.” Lead singer Steve Myers, formally of The Afghan Whigs, sums up their sound as “New York and New Orleans meet at the crossroads and no one moves an inch.”
The debut single from Get Up To Get Down is “Black Train”, watch the video.
